ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

LIVIC Civil is looking to fill a full-time position for a Construction Inspection Manager.

Essential job functions include:

• Review and interpret plans site layouts specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations
• Coordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans contract documents specifications and standards
• Oversee schedule and maintain subordinate inspection staff throughout all project phases
• Measure dimensions and verify level alignment and elevation of structures fixtures grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes
• Makes field notes and computations
• Work on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence facilitate project meetings and resolve construction related field issues
• Witness routine sampling and tests on concrete soils and other materials
• Gathers and maintains project records (using PennDOT ECMS and other systems)
• Interact with the general public government agencies contractors sub-contractors and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiries

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to act in an Owners Agent/Responsible in Charge Role
• Strong Computer proficiency
• Candidates must have a minimum of four years of PennDOT Pennsylvania Turnpike or related transportation construction experience.
• GED or high school diploma required.
• Maintain a valid drivers license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration.
• Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site.
• Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours.
• Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material with a variation of elevation 19 or less (mud gravel rutted ground etc.).
• Availability to work various shifts including night shift. Overtime is often required.
• Ability to sometimes work in adverse weather conditions. Must be physically able to perform moderately strenuous tasks which includes walking along rough terrain climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 pounds.
