Job Description
Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide psychiatric services in correctional facilities across North Carolina. The provider will work with incarcerated adult populations offering both telepsychiatry and in-person services.

Shift Schedule:
4 Full-time (40 hrs/week 5 days/week 8 hrs/day) Telepsych positions
1 Part-time (24 hrs/week 3 days/week 8 hrs/day) Telepsych position
2 Part-time (24 hrs/week 3 days/week 8 hrs/day) In-person positions

Requirements:
Unrestricted North Carolina NP license with PMHNP certification
BLS certification
ACLS certification
DEA certification
Minimum of one year post-licensure experience in psychiatric or correctional settings preferred
Experience with EMR systems (HERO preferred)
Ability to function in a secure correctional environment

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychiatric evaluations mental health assessments and crisis interventions for incarcerated adults
Diagnose mental illnesses and create individualized treatment plans
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications within formulary guidelines
Monitor treatment response and adjust plans as needed
Maintain accurate timely documentation in the HERO EMR system
Collaborate with physicians correctional nurses psychologists and other healthcare staff
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings
Ensure compliance with DAC regulations HIPAA and PREA standards
Coordinate referrals and support continuity of care for higher-level psychiatric needs
