Advertising at Amazon is a rapidly expanding multi-billion dollar business operating across desktop mobile and connected devices. Our reach extends through Amazons platforms and a vast network of third-party publishers worldwide. The low quality inventory detection (LiQuID) program is a crucial component of our business. LiQuID limits ad spend on low quality ad inventory by comprehensively assessing its quality across content user experience traffic and ad performance. We achieve this through high scale distributed and big data engineering machine learning and ad forensics. We are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive the delivery of systems and algorithms designed to improve the quality of our advertising inventory and enhance the overall advertiser experience. The TPM will is also the representative of the team in discussions with various internal and external stakeholders including those responsible for supplier on-boarding enforcement of contracts industry vendors and standard bodies to set a high standard across the programmatic ads marketplace.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the technical development and implementation of the systems for detecting and filtering low-quality inventory across Amazons advertising platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering product management science security engineering and business stakeholders to define requirements set priorities and deliver high-impact solutions.
- Define and implement metrics to measure the effectiveness of quality control measures and their impact on advertiser experience and revenue.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in ad inventory quality assessment.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain documentation for processes technical specifications and best practices related to inventory quality control.
- Present regular updates to senior leadership on program progress challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 3 years of software development experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
