  • 18.5 hours per week Term Time Only (TTO)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Staff Nurse working 18.5 hours per week Term Time Only to join Suffolk County Councils new Healthy Living Service within the Community Health Team in Children and Young Peoples Service.

Your role and responsibilities

You will be expected to clinically review child weight outcomes and take appropriate actions and manage the operations of Child Health Screening and the Child Health Screening Practitioners. You will work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and other regulatory documents ensuring your NMC registration is maintained.

You will support the needs of children young people and their families by ensuring the implementation of the care pathways outlined in the Healthy Living Service Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and in accordance with the clinical governance framework.

You will need

  • to be a current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registered Nurse
  • to provide daily oversight and management of people and services
  • Quality Assurance and performance Management
  • to review the records of children with unhealthy weight take appropriate actions and identify early children and families where additional preventative interventions could reduce their risks and improve future health and wellbeing
  • a thorough understanding of information and advice to signpost for children young people and families to relevant universal and specialist services in the local area and beyond empowering families to help themselves
  • support children young people and their families to maintain their own good emotional health and well-being finding their support network from friends family and the voluntary community.
