You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a proactive and experienced colleague to join the Corporate Deputy Directors support team within Social Security Scotland. This key role is essential to ensuring the effective delivery of strategic business support across core corporate functions including Organisational Strategy and Performance People and Place and Finance.
As Business Support Manager you will play a key role in leading and coordinating the Business Management Unit and Administrative Coordination Hub to ensure the delivery of high-quality business support across the Corporate Services divisions. You will collaborate closely with the C1 Team Leader to oversee governance processes risk management workforce planning and business continuity ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
This position requires a confident and strategic leader with strong organisational and analytical skills. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in service delivery facilitating effective communication and engagement across divisions and supporting talent management and workforce development in partnership with HR and departmental leaders. Your ability to align divisional priorities with the Deputy Directors strategic vision will be essential in promoting cohesive planning operational resilience and the successful achievement of Social Security Scotlands corporate objectives.
This role will have several direct line management and countersigning responsibilities.

Experience
1. Extensive experience leading and managing cross-functional business support teams within complex organisational structures particularly in strategy people and finance functions.
2. Proven ability to develop and oversee governance processes risk management workforce planning and business continuity strategies ensuring compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

Working Pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location which will be either Glasgow or Dundee. This role is only available to existing permanent civil servants who have successfully completed their probation period within Social Security Scotland or the broader Scottish Government.
