About WLFN Summer Jobs


Williams Lake First Nation Summer jobs is an initiative by the Government of Canada and the Cariboo Chilcotin Aboriginal Training Employment Centre (CCATEC) to help you develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully build a foundation for your career. This entry-level position will start July 1 2025 and end August 29 2025. The scheduled hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for 35 hours per week. Some evenings will be required to accommodate events.

POSITION

Reporting to the Interim Director of Health and Wellness the Summer Student will be responsible for assisting the Elders department in organizing and delivering a variety of programs and activities for Elders in the community of Williams Lake First Nation. The job will require you to ensure all aspects of the Elders program run smoothly and effectively.

Employment Type

Regular Full-Time (35 hours per week).

Probation Period

3 months from the date of hire.

Education Required

  • No education minimum required.

Experience Required

  • No experience required.
  • Must be 16 years of age.

Overtime Status

Non-exempt.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support delivery of Elders programming where possible.
  • Assist with Elders Bingo luncheons and other events.
  • Participate in all activities to ensure engagement with all participants.
  • Assist with fundraising activities.
  • Assist with field trips and other organized activities.
  • Assist with setting up and take down of equipment.
