The Position:
As a Licensed Customs Broker you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the importation and exportation of goods ensuring compliance with Australian customs law/regulations DAFF requirements and providing expert advice to our customers internal departments and/or other Business Units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customs Declarations: Prepare and lodge import and export declarations in compliance with the Customs Act 1901.
- Tariff Classification: Accurately classify goods using the Australian Customs Tariff and determine applicable duties and taxes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all shipments adhere to Australian Border Force (ABF) Biosecurity and other regulatory requirements.
- Customer Liaison: Provide expert advice to clients on customs procedures documentation and compliance matters.
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and communications.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with changes in customs regulations and industry best practices
Who We are Looking For:
- Licensed Customs Broker
- 3 years experience in customs broking with a strong understanding of import/export processes.
- Proficiency in customs declaration software (e.g. ICS CargoWise) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and regulatory authorities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex customs issues.
Preferred candidates will be required to undertake reference checks as well as pre-employment screening including a National Police Check. Where applicable background checks including Employment History and Education History (including Qualifications) may be required.
