We have an exciting opportunity for a Tender and RFQ Lead. The qualified person in this position will work closely with Regional & Global product teams as well as all Sales channels within our Industrial Projects team. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that the tenders they lead are completed accurately on time and with a best-in-class solution.
To achieve this goal the successful candidate must collaborate effectively with their global counterparts & stakeholders while seeking ways to improve the overall team hit rate and drive product competency development.
Key Responsibilities:
With the support of the Tender Manager oversee the entire commercial and technical solution process for RFQ RFP RFI and Spot Quotes from start to finish.
Head the evaluation of scope of work contract terms and conditions along with associated administrative tasks in partnership with the sales team. This includes bid screening and T&C approvals.
Take charge of Planning and developing successful commercial and technical strategies in conjunction with the sales teams and management within the organization.
Interact and gather pricing from multiple product teams or external vendors (where required) including but not limited to FCL LCL Air Freight Breakbulk Part Charter Heavy Haulers Barge and Rail in accordance with the defined scope of work.
Create a comparative cost analysis conduct market research and competition analysis and generate revenue simulations to present to internal stake holders and management.
Recognize and evaluate potential commercial legal and technical risk. Develop strategies to mitigate these identified risks.
Engage in negotiations with subcontractors and streamline the procurement process for optimal results.
Where needed provide assistance to overseas offices in the planning and execution of tenders and inquiries.
Establish and oversee a commercial matrix consisting of standard tariffs and rates where possible.
Take the lead in driving process improvements that increase automation productivity and reduce errors.
Offer Functional guidance advice and/or training to team members with less experience.
Prioritization and Sanity checks for bids
Skills / Requirements:
Preferably 7-10 years of experience in the International Freight Forwarding and Project Logistics industry.
A robust background in commercial and operational aspects
Proficiency in advanced Excel data analysis and Microsoft 365 suite of services is essential.
Having excellent project management and organizational skills is necessary to manage multiple deadlines or bids simultaneously.
It is crucial to have extensive knowledge of Ocean Freight / Air freight Distribution Heavy Haul Barging and capital projects.
Having good communication skills is important to effectively engage with people from different countries
Demonstrated capability to work both independently and as a team member.
Possessing mature judgment and decision-making skills
The ability to adapt quickly to changing demands (RFQ volume customer expectations etc.)
Pay Range: $79777.50 - $106370 (Based on Experience
