Senior Technical Designer
What will you do
A day in the life of Senior Technical Designer at Dickies looks a little like this.
The Senior Technical Designer position develops and drives the fit strategy and fit standards leads fit sessions and fit garments for the category with the project team while providing fit recommendations and solutions to issues. This position will provide direction to a wider team as well as technical recommendations to design staff to create consistency of fit and construction and to help achieve design concepts and category initiatives. In addition youll create and communicate pattern revisions incorporating styling and fit changes.
Lets break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.
Accountable for Fit strategy construction standards and execution of design and fit intent into bulk productionfor respective category.
Lead fit session on live model or mannequin work with Designer to achieve aesthetic communicate fit & balance corrections to participants.
Provide technical expertise during design pass off advising on construction techniques and finishing details with a demonstrated ability to create profitable designs.
Effectively communicate fit intent balance and construction to factories.
Evaluate garment to determine compliance of spec construction and fit intent.
Identify potential production and quality issues and make appropriate recommendations while maintaining design and fit intent.
Ensure size and fit consistency within product category.
Track and manage workflow and ensure seasonal deadlines are met.
Identify & proactively engage when issues arise with recommendations for viable options/solutions & escalate issues to Manager if needed.
Conducts self within established guidelines of Fit Protocol.
Foster open communication and team environment with all business partners and receive constructive feedback professionally.
Hold self and others accountable for work commitments and outcomes.
Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings as appropriate.

What do you need to succeed
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role there are foundation skills youll need to succeed and excel. Additionally while formal education in a related field is great to have we are most interested in your 5-7 years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Must have Extensive knowledge in Female Tops and Bottoms patternmaking including grading construction and fit for multiple or complex product
Knowledge of construction standards and manufacturing methods
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Organizational skills and ability to multitask
Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem solve
Strong computer skills preferred programs: computer spec writing programs; PLM; PDM; Adobe Illustrator; Lotus Notes; MS Outlook and MS Office Suite
5-7 years of experience in the Apparel Industry including patternmaking and construction experience with full knowledge of total production timeline
AA/BFA or Certification in Patternmaking Apparel Manufacturing Design or equivalent

$96768.00 USD - $120960.00 USD annuallyIncentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan sales incentive orcommissionpotential.
