Job Description

Responsibilities / Tasks

GEA is one of the largest technology suppliers for food processing and a wide range of other industries. The global group specializes in machinery plants as well as process technology and components.

For ourLiquid & Powder Technologies Division we are currentlylooking fora Mechanical Designer to support 3D design activities and detailed mechanical engineering tasks for process equipment and piping systems. This role is hands-on working closely with project engineers and other stakeholders to develop efficient accurate and compliant mechanical layouts.

This division delivers equipment and integrated solutions for the dairy food beverage chemical and home & personal care industries covering everything from liquid processing to powder handling and carbon capture. GEA designs and builds complete sustainable processing lines and plants worldwide.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop 3D models of skids pre-assembled units and equipment structures using SolidWorks AutoCAD Plant 3D and Inventor.
  • Create 2D and 3D layouts including piperacks platforms and access structures.
  • Design interconnection piping drainage systems and electropneumatic lines.
  • Perform basic structural calculations and support FEA validations.
  • Generate detailed workshop drawings and installation documentation.
  • Integrate third-party models and manage clash detection in platforms like Autodesk Navisworks.
  • Ensure designs meet hygienic standards (EHEDG 3A) and comply with European Directives.
  • Collaborate with project engineers procurement and manufacturing to align on design feasibility and execution.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes tools and documentation.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in 3D mechanical design; preferably in hygienic or process industries.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks AutoCAD Plant 3D and/or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Strong knowledge of hygienic design principles EHEDG 3A standards and structural design.
  • Familiarity with EHEDG 3A standards and European regulatory requirements.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Spanish (native); English (B2/C1).
  • Detail-oriented organized and proactive.
  • Availability to travel.
