Overview:
The Assistant Facilities Technician supports operation inspection and maintenance processes to mechanical electrical plumbing and systems in assigned facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Capable of assisting and learning HVAC skills from building engineers
- Assist engineer and trades with electrical plumbing and HVAC repair work
- Perform basic handyman work and repairs (e.g. change filters lamps wall damage etc.)
- Complete general maintenance work
- Paint surfaces and apply stain as needed
- Follow workplace health and safety rules
- Load and unload tools and equipment from work vehicles
- Coordinate service with customers and handle complaints professionally
- Ensure all work areas are left in clean and safe condition.
- Other assigned operational tasks
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience as a handyman
- Valid drivers license clean driving record and reliable transportation
- Basic plumbing electrical carpentry and HVAC knowledge
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools
- Able to perform basic mathematical calculations and convert measurements
- Able to sit stand kneel lift and climb ladders
- Physically able to operate electric hand tools work on a ladder carry tools and lift and carry up to 70 pounds
- Attention to detail positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Can reliably work alone and as part of a team
- Able to communicate well (multiple languages are a plus)
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Friendly with good interpersonal skills
