Diverse and bilingual candidates are encouraged to QUALIFICATIONS:*Candidates must have a valid CO Special Services Provider (SSP) license in School Psychology School Social Work or School Counseling.*Willing to participate in relevant cross-training opportunities for comprehensive student mental health and future planning purposes*Kept current with professional practice and maintain professional standards in their field of study*Understanding of federal (IDEA) and state (ECEA) special education rules and regulations*Strong student assessment skills*Strong oral and written communication skills*Interpersonal relations and collaborative teaming skills*Critical thinking and problem-solving skills*Calm demeanor in cases of emergencies or other crisis situations*Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities at once*Follow district Board of Education policies and building and division procedures*Ability to communicate interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgroundsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:*To serve as an integrated mental health team member to address student mental health and behavioral needs*To provide direct counseling milieu and assessment support for referred students*To provide collaborative consultation support for instructional staff administration parents and community agencies including classroom behavioral management implementing personal-relational strategies Tier I academic support etc.*To conduct and analyze a variety of formal and informal student assessments (non-IQ tests for Social Workers/School Counselors) for various purposes including but not limited to student identification planning IEP programming and intervention*To participate in the special education process including but not limited to attending pertinent IEP meetings IEP goal writing (as appropriate) transportation planning report writing and monitoring student progress*To help support student future planning activities including personal-relational competencies occupational assessments etc.*To keep clean and accurate student progress records toward students meeting counseling goals*To assume the responsibilities of a case manager for students needing support from outside agencies (e.g. DSS referrals probation outside therapies shelters community resources etc.)*To serve a school leadership capacity in the organization and implementation of Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS) and Student Assistance Teams and/or IEP teams*To serve on the schools crisis response (prevention and intervention) including completing/submitting suicide- and/or threat-assessments*To offer in-services related to his/her area of expertise to stakeholders including but not limited to staff and parents*To participate in monthly mental health meetings including cross-training activities through the school year*To perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor(s)Westminster Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
