Job Description
Overview
Emory Healthcare is where belonging meets purpose.
The Emory Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Cardiac Critical Care post graduate Fellowship is a one year training program that teaches Fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary collaborative and evidence-based management of complex patients in the cardiac intensive care unit. This program attracts new graduates and established APPs seeking a structured educational program who want to become experts and leaders in their field.
Our program combines a highly detailed competency-based curriculum with hands on learning in the clinical setting. Rotations incorporate cardiac care units medical cardiovascular surgical general surgical and neurological ICUs as well as brief exposures with electrophysiology echocardiography heart failure nephrology and infectious diseases services.
Upon successful completion of the program the Fellow will be eligible for employment within Emory Healthcare and become a practice leader within the institution.

Application Requirements:
- Eligible to graduate from an accredited ACNP/AGACNP or PA program.
- Submission of a completed application by 10/01/2025.
- Completed application includes submission of the following supporting documentation:
- CV/Resume
- Statement of Intent: One-page 12-point font double-spaced statement describing career goals and reasons for pursing the fellowship. Include future career plans and how they might be enhanced by additional training in the fellowship. The statement of intent is NOT a cover letter and is an important document which is included in the consideration of your application
- 2 Letters of Recommendation: One must be from your schools Program Director (New Graduates) or Supervising Physician (Currently Employed)
- Official Transcripts
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association.

- The Emory Heart & Vascular Center Division of Cardiology NP/PA Cardiac Critical Care Fellowship Program is a one-year program that prepares fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary collaborative and evidence-based management of complex patients in the cardiac intensive care unit.
- This postgraduate Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program in Cardiac Critical Care consists of combines a highly detailed competency-based curriculum with hands on learning in the clinical year of training across the spectrum of our specialty.
- The year is structured to meet the clinical didactic and research goals that will prepare the advanced practice provider for a successful career in the field of cardiology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an accredited PA or NP masters program prior to the start of the Fellowship program.
- NP candidates must be Acute Care certified (ACNP or AGACNP) or pursuing an Acute Care certification.
- National board certification as a PA or NP.
- Eligible for licensure as a PA or NP in Georgia.
- Eligible for DEA license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association.
