Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Demonstrate and instruct proper use of welding equipment by instructing welding personnel on the basic operation and adjustments of welding machines and various tools welders use.
- Train students on different weld techniques to include mig pulse spray flux core tig etc. on aluminum and stainless steel.
- Train students on the use of various tools (ie. Plasma arc gouging track welding stick mig grinders ceramics etc.)
- Read and explain typical welding codes specifications and drawings. Welding educators should be knowledgeable of welding symbols and welding definitions and terminology.
- Provide weekly reports on student progress to the Training & Development Manager.
- Provide one-on-one and group trainings with employees to visually inspect welds and teach them what a quality weld visually should look like.
- Provide students with mark ups reports and repairs of each defect found on their welds.
- Keep a record and log of all training sessions.
- Review the written welding instructional materialsmaking sure they are as per code or standard.
- Write new welding instructions or lesson plans.
- Create and develop weekly training schedules on who and what they are training on each week.
- Evaluating the performance of welding studentsto verify their training and qualification in accordance with the applicable welding procedures.
- Meet weekly with the Plant Superintendent to discuss employee training needs.
- Maintain and enforce impeccable housekeeping in classrooms and weld booths.
- Follow and enforce all company policies including safety rules and quality standards.
- Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide necessary manufacturing support as required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: - Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a weld instructor.
- Must pass multi position weld test if selected for interview.
- Must have a detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding fitting and processing.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office tools and internet-based applications.
- Possesses effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
