About the role
With the continued growth of our Merits Review andAdministrative Law practice we are seeking an Associate to joinour team in Melbourne. This is a truly varied role which will seeyou working across a variety of matters. Whilst the main focus willbe NDIS you will also have the opportunity to work across otherpractice areas where you will gain experience in workerscompensation personal injury employment law and occupationalhealth and safety making this an invaluable opportunity for alawyer seeking to progress their career. Additionally this rolewill see you working directly with a Partner and closely with teammembers from Melbourne and our national offices who have a genuineinterest in and passion for law and mentoring. The work requiresattention to detail practical problem solving skills and strategicthinking. This is a real opportunity to build on your existingskills and gain exposure to a broad range of practiceareas.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be an Associate levellawyer with experience or an interest in statutory schemesincluding NDIS and workers compensation. We also inviteapplications from candidates with less experience who otherwisemeet the criteria. An interest in litigation and alternativedispute resolution involving appearances at tribunals and Courts isessential. The work requires attention to detail practicalproblem-solving skills initiative and strategic thinking. We arealso looking for someone with a good sense of humour and a desireto work closely with a national group of high energy andhardworking successful lawyers.

Importantly due to the sensitive nature of the work and thepeople it involves you will have a versatile communication ability to communicate with a variety of different people fromvaried backgrounds where an understanding of personal situationsis of value.
There are strong prospects for advancement in a growing nationalteam and whilst the reporting Partner is based in Melbourne thisrole can be performed remotely and may therefore suit someone whoresides in regional Victoria and interstate.
