Job Description
Job Summary
We seek an adjunct faculty member with expertise in audio (and possibly video) media teaching and production who is committed to linking theory and practice of in context of studying food hubs and food traditions. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate deep engagement with storytelling and media production along with past experience with (i) community-based projects/partnerships with an organization or group and (ii) interest in or past experience connecting media and food ideally in the Olympia WA region. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Evergreens team-teaching coordinated studies model and will have demonstrated experience utilizing media as a tool for collaborative modes of inquiry education and problem-solving. They will have the knowledge and flexibility to teach to students with a variety of backgrounds and interests and be able to connect the topics of media and food to different constituencies and issues. The ability to engage in on- and off-campus collaborations as demonstrated through personal work and teaching is required. Experience in teaching as well as a commitment to working with diverse and underserved student populations and to working across significant differences (race class gender sexual orientation etc.) are also required. We are particularly interested in candidates committed to exploring how media can be used to further community collaboration and expand access to media practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree or other advanced degree relevant to the position Demonstrated experience in media production including but not limited to audio production Demonstrated experience with on- and off-campus collaborations Teaching experience Commitment to working with diverse and underserved student populations
