Care Partner IV Responsibilities:
Meets basic patient care needs and reports to nursing staff by: Responding to signal lights bells intercom system and bed/tab alarms to determine the patients needs.
- Giving care and assistance to patients in respect to their personal hygiene grooming activity comfort rest nourishment and other health needs.
- Ensuring meals are ordered within dietary restrictions and collects food trays feeds patients requiring help and documents all nutritional and supplemental intake per unit protocols.
- Transporting patients or assisting patients to ambulate per physician orders.
- Turning and repositioning patients every two hours as indicated alone or with assistance to prevent skin breakdown and pressure ulcers.
- Applying compresses ice bags ted hose and SCDs as indicated.
Completes basic patient data gathering by: Takes records and reports to RN temperature blood pressure pulse (O2 saturation) and respiration rates height and weight food and fluid intake/output as directed. Reports abnormal findings immediately to the primary nurse.
- Obtains point-of-care blood glucose and reports results to RN. Reports abnormal findings immediately to responsible nurse.
- Follows all universal and specific isolation policies including Blood-borne Pathogen protocols as outlined by hospital policy.
Maintains a safe and clean environment within the patient and nursing unit by:
- Changes bed linens and directs visitors.
- Organizes/stocks patient rooms as needed and ensures each patient room is tidy and free of environmental hazards.
- Maintains a therapeutic environment in all patient service areas.
- Reports malfunctioning equipment removes from use and submits a work order to assure proper operation.
Daily Quality Control on Blood Glucose Machines.
Prepares charts for admissions discharges and transfers.
- Assures valuables sheet is complete at time of each admission.
- Maintains chart forms availability and breaks down charts after patients have been discharged.
Completes secretarial duties under the direction of professional nursing staff.

Maintains the nursing station and provides clerical and nursing support by:
- Answers the telephone intercom calls and provides information or relays messages to nursing staff (using telephone system) patients and medical staff.
- Manages and maintains the Hill-Rom system including the electronic dashboard.
- Directs visitors to patient rooms.
- Assemble admission transfer and discharge packets as needed.
- Assists staff with patients as required.
- Assists with projects as directed.
- Maintains the environment of the nursing unit:
- Participates in maintaining a professional organized clean department and safe work environment.
- Notify the department leaders and/or supervisors of any event that may cause processes to negatively affect patient care or the department.
Supports in timely and correct care charges for the unit:
- Enters patient charges (IR infusion Recovery phase III Observation supply etc.) daily.
- Work with leadership on recent charges or missed charges.
Floating Responsibilities:
- Adapt quickly to different patient care units demonstrating proficiency in various nursing care techniques and procedures specific to each department.
- Always be the first to float to various units as needed to ensure optimal patient care based on unit and patient requirements
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Current Colorado Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved CNA training program.
- Competent to float to all inpatient units demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to diverse patient populations and care protocols.
- Strong communication interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Compensation:
- $22.50 - $25.88 per hour depending on education and experience.
- Bonus: $1500
