Systems Support Engineer
We are looking for a dynamic Support Engineer with great people interaction skills. This role typically involves ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure. Responsible for partnering with field technician and helping them installing configuring testing and maintaining systems and software.
Role & Responsibilities:
Hardware Support Skills
PC Assembly & Maintenance: Building upgrading and repairing desktops/laptops.
Peripheral Troubleshooting: Printers scanners monitors and input devices.
Hardware Diagnostics Tools: Experience with tools like POST cards multimeters or OEM diagnostics utilities.
BIOS/UEFI Configuration: Updating firmware and configuring hardware settings.
Mobile Device Support: Basic troubleshooting of smartphones and tablets.
Component-Level Repair (optional/advanced): Soldering chip-level repair etc.
Software Support Skills
Operating Systems: Installation configuration and troubleshooting (Windows macOS Linux).
Application Support: Microsoft Office collaboration tools (Teams Zoom) email clients etc.
System Imaging and Deployment: Using tools like SCCM MDT or Ghost.
User Account Management: Active Directory group policies password resets.
Patch Management: Applying software updates and security patches.
Antivirus & Security Tools: Installation scanning and threat mitigation.
Basic Scripting (optional/advanced): PowerShell batch scripting for automating tasks.
Network Support Skills
Network Fundamentals: Understanding TCP/IP DNS DHCP and subnetting.
Hardware Configuration: Routers switches access points firewalls.
Wi-Fi Troubleshooting: Signal strength channel interference SSID configurations.
Cable Management & Standards: Crimping cable testing following EIA/TIA standards.
Network Monitoring Tools: Wireshark PRTG Nagios SolarWinds.
Soft Skills & General Competencies
Customer Service Orientation: Clear communication empathy patience.
Incident Management: Logging prioritizing and resolving support tickets.
Documentation: Creating KB articles logging troubleshooting steps.
Time Management: Handling multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Team Collaboration: Working with cross-functional IT and business teams.
Pay Transparency Laws in some locations require disclosure of compensation and/or benefits-related information. For this position actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location experience and performance. In addition to base pay this position based on business need may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. The estimated salary range for this role is $70000 - $82090.
