Location: San Antonio TX
Position Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $28 $40/hr DOE Start Date: Immediate
Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking experienced and certified 6G Welders for a high-demand commercial project in the San Antonio area. This is a great opportunity for motivated tradesmen looking to work on high-spec pipe welding and structural welding assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities:
-
Perform 6G pipe welding to precise specifications with the ability to pass X-ray weld tests
-
Use GTAW (TIG) GMAW (MIG) and flux core welding techniques on carbon steel and stainless steel
-
Cut prep and weld pipe and metal components according to project blueprints and welding procedures
-
Maintain proper heat control weld bead integrity and finish quality
-
Operate welding equipment grinders torches and thermal cutting tools
-
Conduct visual inspections and repair any welding defects before QC evaluation
-
Collaborate with foremen and project teams to ensure production goals and safety standards are met
Requirements:
-
Current 6G Certification (or ability to pass a 6G weld test on-site)
-
Minimum 3 5 years of professional welding experience preferably in industrial or structural environments
-
Experience with pipe welding structural welding and pressure vessel fabrication
-
Ability to read and interpret blueprints layouts and WPS documentation
-
Familiarity with ASME AWS and ANSI welding codes
-
Physically able to lift 50 lbs work at heights and in confined spaces
-
Must have basic tools welding hood and PPE
-
OSHA 10 preferred
Preferred Experience:
-
Arch gouging and thermal cutting
-
Working knowledge of ASME pressure vessels and X-ray-quality welds
-
Forklift or aerial lift certification
-
Prior work on shutdowns refinery or power generation sites
Compensation & Schedule:
-
Pay Range: $28 $40/hr based on experience and certifications
-
Overtime: Available and encouraged
-
Per Diem: May be available for qualifying travelers
