We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented System Administrator / Network Engineer to join our IT team. This role is essential in managing and securing the organization s IT infrastructure supporting both internal teams and managed services clients. You will play a key role in maintaining systems ensuring network security providing technical support and overseeing infrastructure performance.
Responsibilities as a System Administrator / Network Engineer:
System Maintenance and Configuration:
Installing configuring and maintaining computer systems and servers
Upgrading application software and computer hardware
Network Management:
Managing network servers and technology tools
Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
Security Management:
Ensuring the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure
Performing regular security tests and monitoring
User Support:
Setting up accounts and workstations
Providing technical support to employees
Documentation and Inventory:
Keeping records of hardware and software assets
Maintaining license counts and details for servers and virtual machines
Backup and Recovery:
Managing backup and data restoration processes
Firewall and Antivirus Management:
Operating and maintaining firewalls
Installing and managing antivirus or malware protection software
Tasks Involved:
Regularly checking system performance and addressing issues
Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts
Monitoring LAN for threats or errors
Keeping detailed records of configurations and updates
Ensuring systems and software are current with patches and update
Qualifications as a System Administrator / Network Engineer:
Technical Proficiency:
Deep understanding of operating systems networking and security protocols.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.

Experience with specific systems networks and security protocols is often necessary.
Senior-Level Positions:
Usually require 5 years of experience in systems administration.
Extensive experience with complex IT infrastructures project management and leadership roles is often expected

System Uptime:
Target: Maintain system uptime of 99.9% or higher.
Metric: Percentage of time systems are operational and available.
Incident Response Time:
Target: Respond to incidents within 15 minutes.
Metric: Average time taken to respond to and resolve incidents.
Backup Success Rate:
Target: Achieve a backup success rate of 98% or higher.
Metric: Percentage of successful backups completed on schedule.
Security Incident Rate:
Target: Reduce security incidents by 10% annually.
Metric: Number of security incidents detected and resolved.
User Satisfaction:
Target: Achieve a user satisfaction score of 90% or higher.
Metric: Feedback from user surveys regarding IT support and services.

Metric: Percentage of systems with up-to-date patches and updates.
Resource Utilization:
Metric: CPU memory and storage utilization rates.
Help Desk Tickets:
Metric: Number of help desk tickets resolved within the first contact.
Downtime:
Metric: Total downtime experienced due to system failures or maintenance.
Targets:
System Performance:
Target: Ensure system performance metrics (CPU memory storage) are within optimal ranges.
Compliance:
Target: Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Training and Development:
Target: Complete at least 40 hours of professional development annually.
