Job Description

As the Director of IT Operations you will be at the helm of a dynamic global IT ecosystem driving excellence innovation and seamless technology services. Leading multiple IT support teams across various locations you will ensure top-tier service delivery for multiple brands in the U.S. and internationally. Your impact will extend beyond day-to-day operationsyou will oversee both internally managed and third-party IT systems that power critical business processes across the enterprise. In this high-impact role you will spearhead operational service management processes to optimize performance enhance productivity and accelerate agility. As a key member of the IT leadership team you will shape and execute the technology strategy ensuring it aligns with business goals and delivers cutting-edge capabilities that drive success. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead IT Excellence: Oversee the seamless operation and support of IT systems ensuring they empower business success and drive innovation.
  • Champion a Service-First Mindset: Foster a business-oriented IT culture focused on continuous improvement efficiency and top-tier service delivery.
  • Shape the Future of IT: Drive the development of IT operations strategy ensuring it integrates with broader enterprise goals while maintaining smooth business processes.
  • Forge Strong Partnerships: Build and nurture relationships with IT and business leaders to understand needs deliver cost-effective IT solutions and swiftly adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Strategize IT Investments: Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and manage annual operating and capital expenditure budgets ensuring smart investments in technology.
  • Inspire & Lead Your Team: Train mentor and empower IT Operations teams to excel in delivering business-driven solutions fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Be the IT Leadership Presence Onsite: Play a visible hands-on leadership role in day-to-day IT operations ensuring a strong connection between technology and business goals.
  • Drive Innovation & Integration: Assess new technologies and service management practices identifying opportunities for seamless integration into existing operations.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Keep up with emerging IT trends and guide the adoption of cutting-edge solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business agility.
  • Future-Proof IT Talent: Forecast skill needs and build a high-performing IT workforce with a perfect balance of technical expertise leadership and business acumen.
  • Adapt & Evolve: Continuously refine IT strategies and ensure the core IT functions remain stable secure and optimized while embracing innovation.
  • Make a Lasting Impact: Take on additional projects as needed to support and enhance IT operations across the organization.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Empower Teams: Manage hiring training and development of IT staff while ensuring alignment with company policies and performance expectations.
  • Set the Standard for Success: Plan assign and review work while recognizing top talent addressing challenges and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation:

  • Identify Game-Changing Opportunities: Stay ahead of technological advancements evaluating potential benefits risks and ROI for business adoption.
  • Champion Efficiency & Optimization: Drive a War on Waste mentality streamlining processes and maximizing IT service value.
  • Challenge the Status Quo: Encourage innovation propose alternative solutions and push for smarter more agile IT operations.

Qualifications :

Heres what youll bring to the table:

  • Proven IT Leadership: A Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related fieldOR 10 years of progressive leadership experience at the director level.
  • Deep IT Expertise: 10 years of hands-on experience in IT operations infrastructure and technical management ensuring seamless business technology performance.
  • People-First Leadership: 5 years of experience leading and mentoring high-performing teams fostering collaboration and driving IT excellence.
  • Results-Driven Mindset: A powerful mix of education progressive hands-on experience and strategic IT leadership that delivers measurable business impact.
  • Strategic & Tactical Mastery: A strong technical infrastructure and operations background combined with expert project management and vendor negotiation skills ensuring IT services run at peak performance.
  • IT Service Management Pro: Recent experience designing implementing and managing ITSM processesincluding Change Management Incident Management and Problem Managementto drive efficiency and reliability.
  • Enterprise-Scale Operations: Experience leading infrastructure implementation and support across multiple data centres ensuring scalable secure and high-performing IT environments.
  • Influential Communicator: Ability to engage influence and collaborate with executives management and technical teams to drive innovation streamline processes and implement change.
  • Process & Performance Optimizer: Strong analytical skills with a knack for tracking measuring and improving IT efficiency ensuring continuous improvement and business alignment.

This role is based in Suva Fiji however there will be some local travel as required as we have various locations around Fiji.  Additionally the occasional evening and weekend commitments are expected ensuring comprehensive support for both project initiatives and ongoing operational needs. In return we offer a challenging and stimulating environment. You will have the right to live and work in Fiji at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test. We are open to expats who would like to move to Suva. Fiji for 2-3 years.
