Overview

As our Medical Surgical Nurse at CHI St. Alexius Health Carrington Medical Center youll excel in your nursing career by providing care to patients admitted to our unit. Most of your patients are funneled in from other units providing you with the opportunity to build on your education and experience in specialized service lines such as cardiac neurology critical care surgical services and emergency.

In our Critical Access Hospital you will be exposed to the emergency department acute care (Med/Surg) swing bed surgery outpatient treatment and so much more!

Responsibilities

  • Except to deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift
  • Administer medications change dressings monitor vital signs and chart with timely documentation
  • Collaborate with a variety of other healthcare professionals such as social work care coordination physical therapy occupational therapy lab respiratory therapy and imaging

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Active Registered Nursing License in North Dakota OR active compact RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required.
  • ACLS required within six (6) months of start date.
  • PALS required within six (6) months of start date.
  • TNCC required within six (6) months of start date.

Preferred:

  • Medical-Surgical Unit and/or Long-Term Care RN experience.
