Joinery Estimator High-End Residential Projects
Location: Aylesbury
Our client a specialist in bespoke joinery for luxury residential properties is looking to appoint a Joinery Estimator to join their growing team in Aylesbury. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a varied and rewarding role contributing to the delivery of interior projects both in-house and for third-party clients.
The Role
This position will suit someone with a strong background in estimating for joinery or interior fit-out works. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and tender documentation closely monitoring budgets and scope changes throughout each projects life cycle and supporting financial performance through clear proactive cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating Duties:
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and tender submissions for bespoke joinery works
- Review architectural drawings and specifications to identify complexities potential issues and scope of work
- Liaise with architects clients and project teams during pre-tender and negotiation phases
- Produce clear technical drawings using AutoCAD and SketchUp to support tender documentation
- Source quotations from specialist subcontractors and suppliers for elements including metalwork glazing appliances and ironmongery
- Compile bills of quantities and detailed schedules as part of the submission process
- Maintain and develop a strong reliable supply chain network
Surveying & Commercial Support:
- Issue accurate monthly valuations and monitor ongoing project costs
- Track variations in design or scope ensuring all changes are recorded priced and recovered
- Support the procurement process and oversee the management of orders and applications
- Value completed works and support the preparation of interim and final accounts
- Manage and submit vesting certificate requests as needed

Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar estimating role within the joinery fit-out or interiors sector
- Excellent knowledge of high-end residential construction and bespoke joinery detailing
- Proficiency in AutoCAD SketchUp and Microsoft Excel
- Strong commercial awareness and confident in reviewing drawings take-offs and variations
- Organised methodical and able to work under pressure to meet tender deadlines
- A confident communicator able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
