Carry out repairs to pumps motors fans and a variety of other mechanical equipment throughout the Hospital as assigned.
Carry out fire protection system preventative maintenance and repairs.
Repair patient beds and wheelchairs as required.
Perform regular preventative maintenance on mechanical and electronic devices throughout the Hospital as assigned.
Prepare and layout own material.
Demonstrated good ability to solve problems and work on own initiative.
Inspect repair replace and adjust components for entrance and exit doors including closers electric strikes magnetic hold opens keys and locksets.
Carry out other mechanic duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills
Minimum Secondary School completion plus completion of Trade and Apprenticeship program required
Must have current valid Province of Ontario Certificate of Qualification as a Millwright
Current provincial certification in welding is preferred
Recent related experience as a mechanic essential ideally in a hospital/healthcare setting
Experience & training by a recognized locksmithing facility preferred.
Demonstrated ability to read mechanical blueprints and a basic understanding of electrical principles required.
Demonstrated experience and ability to perform welding and electrical repairs required.
Maintenance experience essential
Demonstrated customer service focus and proven verbal and written communication
