This position is in Cargills protein and salt business where we provide wholesome high-quality food products to a wide range of customers from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The RN/LPN will perform occupational health care activities. In this role you will provide health and wellness training and education employee health services and compliance. Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice nursing in Virginia/compact state. This position will primarily support our protein processing facility in Dayton VA but may also support local satellite locations in Harrisonburg and Mount Crawford VA. This position will support our 2nd shift operations with a daily schedule from 3:00pm - 11:00pm.

Key Accountabilities

  • Use technical knowledge and training and assist in designing and executing employee health and wellness programs
  • Conduct safety and ergonomic training and administer drug and alcohol programs
  • Treat evaluate and assess employee illness or injury and determine medical direction
  • Develop formulate and implement plans of care based on stand order and medical directives
  • Help determine what employees can do under restrictive duty when they can return to work and when to refer them to an outside medical provider
  • Support record keeping in accordance with relevant regulations
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
  • Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • LPN licensed in Virginia/compact state plus 2 years of experience in occupational health ER urgent care or similar OR RN licensed in Virginia/compact state

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English/any language (Spanish Khurdish or Arabic preferred)
  • Experience working in an occupational health environment
