GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


This position is located at Camp Guernsey Department of Public Works. Responsible for grounds maintenance minor janitorial services and building upkeep throughout Camp. Works accordingly with WYARNG values mission and vision to provide adequate accommodations and training opportunities for visiting units.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed in the job level.

  • Grounds; Responsible for maintenance/operation of equipment for mowing manicured/rough terrain grasses street/sidewalk snow removal/sanding underground sprinkler installation/repair/startup/layup landscaping paddock maintenance tree planting/trimming street sign maintenance/installation chain link fence repair/maintenance operates mowers skid steer tool cat farm tractors back hoe tele handler UTV with boom sprayer and assists with summer to winter equipment refit.
  • Custodial; Responsible for cleaning/sanitation of two common areas/bathrooms empty trash sweep mop vacuum rugs strip/wax floors wash mirrors/doors/hardware. Corrects minor trades related issues.
  • Admin; Receives executes and completes work orders. Be familiar with Safety Data Sheets and HAZMAT restrictions. Inputs/completes computer-based work orders.
  • Weed/Pest mitigation; Assist with noxious weed control utilizing sprayers or mechanical means. Pest elimination using traps and baits.
  • Assist trades personnel with various plumbing electrical HVAC and carpentry maintenance or projects.
  • Meetings;Attend daily Department of Public Works meeting for specialized coordination and situational awareness.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:


Preference will be given to candidates with experience in building and grounds maintenance or custodial work.


KNOWLEDGE:




MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:
High School Diploma

Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)

OR

Education & ExperienceSubstitution:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Building and Grounds)

None
