UCT is looking for a talented Manager Global PMO to join us! This position will manage portfolios of 2 or more projects within Project Management Office and report directly to the Director of Project Management Office. This position will plan organize and lead execution of specific project and portfolios of project activities as assigned by the Project Management Office. Overall Program Management includes working with individual project Sponsors to define project objectives and success criteria to support initial project resourcing funding for approvals prioritization and portfolio alignment. Once approved and resourced the Program Manager will be responsible for detailed project planning execution including scheduling periodic governance reviews and at key project milestones. Annual goals and objectives will set the targets for success of projects to quality delivery and cost project attributes.

This is a remote role with a preference for candidates located near our UCT sites in Phoenix AZ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Requirements:

  • Organizes business opportunities into cohesive groupings of projects. Manages the grouping as a portfolio of interconnected activities to achieve business results.
  • Responsible for ensuring all of the project requirements and/or objectives are correctly gathered understood and properly translated for execution.
  • Build team(s) to address the project goals and objectives for multiple and/or enterprise level projects.
  • Collaborate with customer (internal or external) from requirements gathering through product acceptance.
  • Align the program team to customer needs by establishing milestones goals and objectives based on input from all functional areas and stakeholders within the enterprise project.
  • Review project schedules with functional project managers and project coordinators allocated to projects.
  • Provide guidance and motivation to project teams to successfully achieve project goal and corporate initiatives
  • Communicate project objectives in terms of overall strategic business objectives.
  • Serve as interface with customers vendors stakeholders and project sponsor(s)
  • Devise creative solutions to critical customer and user needs.
  • Manage development of project plans with focus on achievement of project goals and corporate initiatives including project specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or metrics.
  • Responsible for recognizing projects Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and manage the work within scope quality time and cost constraints.
  • Obtain and summarize current project information and milestone status versus project performance baseline.
  • Drive project/program tasks to completion in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Coordinate the efforts of the team to develop an integrated project plan and risk analysis with action plans to mitigate the risks.
  • Management of Resource capacity and time tracking allocated to enterprise level project.
  • Financial Management and analysis of costs for enterprise level projects and programs including Capital Expenditures Requests (CERs) travel training resources allocation and other project related costs.
  • Responsible for forecasting project budget and HR needs for current and future site needs.
  • Accountable for overall project success - including cost schedule quality and scope management.
  • Balance the cost schedule and time frames against the enterprise level project requirements.
  • Report project status issues and implemented solutions as well as evaluations and assessments of the results.
  • Provide leaders with updates including greatest opportunities for improvement.
  • Recognize potential problem areas against the plan and identify and implement alternative solutions.
  • Identify best cost solutions to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks elimination of non-value-added processes or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
  • Provide key stakeholders with regular project performance status variances to plan and identification of corrective actions (if required).
  • Participate in the exchange of ideas and information within the department and with other facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the company
  • Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate meet and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively making customer issues a priority.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Project development

  • Manages multiple projects - either independently or integrated program elements; can develop multiple projects within a program

Project Planning

  • Completes all project planning elements per project life cycle processes. Can use Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) effectively with no Supervision to address all project planning requirements.

Project Management

  • Provide technical leadership of multiple projects and develops strategy for project execution across a portfolio. Manage and monitor project tasks performance details project information and any changes that may adversely affect project success criteria.

Project Communications

  • Develop and deliver multiple project and program communications across all stakeholders with limited to no supervision.

Generate Project Schedule

  • Generates complex (multifunctional) schedules. Reviews and approve schedules.

Leadership

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; serves as coach / mentor for PMs as managed within a portfolio of projects or program. Drives PMO development through learnings. Defines and drives integrated program requirements.

Problem Solving

  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

Troubleshooting Skills

  • Troubleshoot a variety of problems of moderate/high difficulty to address business improvement opportunities.

Meeting Facilitation

  • Leads meetings both internal and external customers captures minutes and prepares slide deck. Develops program and multi-project communication plans

Interpersonal Skills

  • Explains difficult or sensitive information. Interacts with suppliers. Interacts with customers. Host program reviews on business technical and project lifecycle elements.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • PMP certification required.
  • Bachelors Degree from accredited University.

Experience Requirement:

Work Experience:

  • 3 year experience as a Project Manager.
