Responsibilities
This position is responsible for all plumbing piping and steam systems and equipment. These systems are life support systems or essential utilities including medical gasses/vacuum. Sewage systems domestic water supply domestic hot and cold water generation and distribution and steam and condensation systems (i.e. sterilization).
Essential Functions:
- Installs repairs and maintains hospital fixtures and equipment such as urinals toilets sinks drinking fountains faucets.
- Install inspects and maintains all existing plumbing systems and related lines such as hot and cold water lines steam lines sewer lines.
- Completes inspections of all plumbing systems and equipment according to established procedures completing log sheets checklists and PM sheets as required.
- Completes required documentation in reference to mechanical systems as required by federal state and regulatory agencies.
- Works as part of the project team.
- Assist other skilled workers and perform general maintenance work as requested.
- Assist Contractors with building information as needed.
- Facilitates the efficient operation of the department by answering the telephone and assisting callers or visitors with requests.
- Safe handling/disposal/packaging for Transport of Pharmaceutical Waste/Hazardous Materials/Bio-Hazardous Regulated Medical Waste.
- Completes the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) and Hazardous Waste education during employee orientation.
- Tri-annually education for the D.O.T training.
- Is knowledgeable of the process for identifying the proper waste stream and uses the appropriate container to dispose of waste.
- Knowledgeable regarding the process to contact the emergency response coordinator for hazardous waste/pharmaceutical release/spill clean-up.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Apprenticeship program required.
5 years commercial plumbing experience required.
- Associates degree preferred.
Licensure and Certifications:
Journeyman Plumbers License: KY (PLUMBER:KY) required.
Drivers License: KY (AUTO:KY) required.
