As a DevOps Engineer on our Core Team in the CloudOS Group youll play a crucial role in building and maintaining our Signavio CloudOS platform. Our mission is to build the foundation for our application developers so they can focus on creating value - profiting from the scale of SAP without being too dragged down by overhead with low cognitive load and with security & compliance built-in. We pride ourselves in following a Platform Engineering approach being infrastructure-as-code only and we continuously push to adopt new technologies that solve our biggest issues once theyre proven.
What Youll Do
As part of a skilled DevOps team youll help design build and maintain a robust platform for our production systems using AWS Kubernetes CDK and Crossplane.
Champion and enforce our Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and GitOps best practices on AWS.
Help us improving our development workflows.
Collaborate transparently with a variety of internal stakeholders in the form of demos presentations and documentation.
Additionally youll pair with engineers from various delivery teams to support multiple environments and work to improve code infrastructure continuous testing and security.
Take part in the transition to use Gardener managed clusters Crossplane framework and working with the SAP Business Technology Platform.
What Youll Bring
You have experience with using one or more programming languages such as Go Python or NodeJS/Typescript.
You have hands-on experience setting up and administering AWS Services (EC2 IAM VPC Route 53) preferably with IaC tools such as CDK Terraform or CloudFormation.
You have some experience managing Kubernetes clusters and using tools like Helm or Kustomize or youre eager to learn.
You have experience or willingness to learn service meshes with Kubernetes & Istio.
You have experience working with Linux and Bash scripting.
You apply software engineering best practices including GitOps CI/CD and automated testing. Experience with tools like ArgoCD CircleCI or GitHub Actions is a plus.
You understand concepts like High Availability Scalability Security and Disaster Recovery.
Above all youll be a strong team player with a positive can-do attitude thriving with feedback and understand that we can only succeed as a distributed team. Youll dislike manual changes to infrastructure and will fight for simplicity automation ensuring that untested changes do not make their way into production.
