Software Developer Co-op (65789)

GENERAL SUMMARY

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineering Co-op who in conjunction with our software development team will be responsible for developing front-end programs attached to existing programs to enhance our Engineering teams costing and drawing tools. Duties will include but are not limited to developing new web-based programs and enhancing existing program deliverables. You will also be working closely with stakeholders and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

• Developing new and enhancing existing software programming initiatives.
• Working closely with stakeholders and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals.
• Analyzing data to effectively coordinate the installation of new systems or the modification of existing systems.
• Communicating key project data to team members and building cohesion among teams.
• Developing and executing project plans as needed.
• Applying best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Creating innovative solutions to meet our companys technical needs.
• Testing new software and fixing bugs.
• Resolving issues and providing support for deployed applications sites and web services.

SKILLS

• Must have ability/experience in reading analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical journals safety rules operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals and laboratory test programs.
• Efficient in reading comprehending and writing technical reports and correspondence.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic legal and financial language.
• Must have ability/experience in reading and creating manufacturing drawings including GD&T.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Must have prior experience in calculating and manipulating figures and amounts such as fractions percentages ratios areas circumference and volumes as well as using and converting units of measurement.
• Must have strong abilities to apply concepts of calculus algebra and geometry.
• Efficient in data analysis and correlation using MS Excel and/or Matlab.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.
• Experience performing FEA using ANSYS is strongly desired.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Pursuing A bachelors degree in computer science software engineering or another related field.
• Two to four years of software engineering or software course work preferably in a related field.
• Hands-on programming experience using languages such as Javascript (React) C
• Hands-on experience with relevant application frameworks.
• Hands-on with Visual Studio/IntelliJ or an equivalent IDE for development and debugging of new or existing code.
• Knowledge of MS Windows and Linux server environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative and strong problem-solving skills.
• The ability to prioritize activities and deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Experience working with clients and business partners.
• A comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts.
• Excellent coding skills.
• Extensive knowledge of agile methodologies.
• Strong team building skills.
