Position: Managing Attorney

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The is seeking an experienced Managing Attorney to lead its San Francisco office. This leadership role involves both active legal practice and strategic team management. The Managing Attorney will provide high-quality legal representation to employers insurers and third-party administrators in workers compensation claims while overseeing a team of staff attorneys and legal assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and mentor legal staff ensuring professional growth and high performance.
Maintain and manage a personal caseload of workers compensation defense matters.
Oversee legal strategy and quality assurance for all casework in the office.
Lead recruitment hiring and onboarding of new legal and administrative staff.
Foster client relationships and drive business development initiatives.
Provide continuous coaching and performance feedback to team members.
Monitor compliance identify legal risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Handle administrative tasks necessary for daily office operations.
Desired Qualifications:
Senior-level attorney with a minimum of six years experience in workers compensation defense
Active California Bar membership in good standing
Exceptional research communication and organizational abilities capable of thriving in a dynamic fast-paced environment
Strong background in marketing and business development
Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships across all levels of an organization
Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams manage priorities meet deadlines and drive results
Prior experience managing attorneys and legal support staff is required
Experience with MerusCase Management software is a plus
Must consistently meet or exceed 225 billable hours
Resides within a maximum of 1 hour and 20 minutes from San Francisco
