Pharmacy Tech II

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Assists Pharmacy Tech lead in the automation processes
- Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request pharmacist request or prearranged work assignment according to established policies procedures and protocols.
- Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures.
- Maintains logs records and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations.
- Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department.
- Assists when Buyer is not available on putting order up stocking and placing order with wholesaler.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
Require Licensure/Certifications:
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy Licensed Pharmacy Technician
- Nationally certified as Pharmacy Technician per Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- Sterile Compounding Certification.
- ACPE Nationally Certified.
