Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Junior Counselor in Counseling Psychology to join our team at Podar Education Network. The position is based in Bangalore Urban and is a full-time role requiring 1 to 3 years of work experience. As part of our team you will work in a supportive environment focused on delivering quality counseling services to our students.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven knowledge and application of psychological principles and methods to assess and understand individual behavior and mental processes.
- Experience in psychological assessment (Mandatory skill) essential for identifying psychological issues and formulating effective counseling plans.
- Strong foundation in counseling psychology (Mandatory skill) to facilitate personal and interpersonal functioning across the lifespan.
- Proficiency in cognitive behavioral therapy (Mandatory skill) to help clients modify dysfunctional thinking patterns.
- Ability to observe assess and interpret behavior accurately and constructively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop trust and rapport with students parents and staff.
- Adherence to ethical principles in psychology and counseling ensuring confidentiality and integrity.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students emotional social and educational development.
- Utilize psychological assessments to diagnose and treat mental health issues among students.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on students unique needs and goals.
- Collaborate with teachers parents and other professionals to facilitate student support and development.
- Maintain up-to-date records of counseling interactions assessments and student progress.
- Provide crisis intervention and support in emergencies to promote student welfare.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with counseling techniques and strategies.
- Ensure that all counseling practices adhere to current ethical and legal standards in educational psychology.
