We are seeking a full-time History & English Faculty member to join our team beginning in the 202526 school year beginning in August 2025. This 10-month faculty position includes a competitive benefits package with school-provided housing.

Position Summary:
The History & English Faculty is a mission-driven Christian educator who will inspire students through rigorous exploration of literature writing and historical inquiry. The ideal candidate is an experienced teacher with a vibrant Christian faith who values the integration of faith and learning believes the humanities are pathways to truth goodness and beauty and seeks to form students as critical thinkers skilled communicators and faithful disciples. This flexible position offers opportunities to teach across multiple humanities disciplines within our Christ-centered boarding school community.
Primary Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Flexibility to teach multiple classes in English History or Humanities at the middle and high school levels
- High energy and enthusiasm for working with adolescents and strong ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with educational technology and ability to integrate AI thoughtfully into classroom instruction
- Experience with differentiated instruction particularly in block scheduling
- Strong collaborative skills for working within teaching teams
- Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning
- Willingness to contribute to residential school life including evening and weekend duties coaching chaperoning study hall supervision and community meals
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for contributing to dormitory leadership; candidates with a strong interest in residential life are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in English History Education or a related field required; Masters degree preferred
- A vibrant and demonstrable Christian faith committed to mentoring students spiritually and intellectually within a Christian worldview
- Strong alignment with The Stony Brook Schools historic mission of integrating faith and learning
- Proven excellence in communication and effective teaching practices
- Willingness and enthusiasm to actively participate in residential school life through advisory dormitory supervision or co-curricular involvement
Compensation & Benefits:
- Comprehensive benefits include high-quality medical hospital and dental coverage with no premium costs. The School pays 100% of premiums while employees pay only minimal co-pays and a modest deductible.
