Job Summary

PSE&G is seeking a new member for the Technical Training team within the Centralized Services organization at our Edison NJ location. The team performs analysis design development and evaluation of technical training for PSE&G line of business clients. This position will have a focus on computer applications and systems training and course development for apprentice and incumbent employees across Electric Gas and Customer Operations.
The role has primary responsibility to provide training on systems and applications used by the associates in the field including Mobile Workforce Management System (MWMS) Operations Management System (OMS) CAD SAP etc. The successful candidate will be proficient in teaching courses related to field systems is contributing to create and update courses and has a minimum of 2 years of positive evaluations from management observations of them facilitating training classes. Provide assistance in other instructional areas / activities such as instructional skills development. The position works with process owners and process improvement managers across the utility to establish process efficiency. Therefore the position requires strong internal and external relationship building skills and behaviors and to be proactively involved with all clients in order to stay abreast of changes relevant to effective training programs. The Sr. Training & Development Specialist will be a member of relevant training committees or Occupational Work Groups.

Job Responsibilities

• Instruct field systems training courses at the training centers and at local offices.
• Update and develop content utilizing the ADDIE instructional design model.
• Develop relationships with subject matter experts to identify training needs and related content.
• Develop relationship with external subject matter experts to identify industry best practices.
• Use learning technology to provide training assess students and complete surveys.
• Candidate must be available in case of a storm emergency to support staging area assignments.
  

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

• High School Graduate or GED with 7 years of relevant experience with over 4 years of training/education experience in the technology field
• At least 5 years of indirect supervisory experience or 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience in training/educating others using methodologies: analysis design development evaluation and alternative delivery methods including eLearning or virtual instruction applications
• Demonstrated ability to cross-train to expand skill sets and competencies into multiple topics/disciplines
• Demonstrated experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office software
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of making effective oral presentations
• Ability to facilitate joint union/management assessment teams
• Project management related experience
• Experience in Learning Management System use
• Experience in alternative training delivery methods including automated computer-based or virtual / augmented reality applications
• Provide leadership through peer-to-peer coaching/guidance for GL 27 instructors.
• Analysis design and evaluate apprentice and incumbent employee technical training
• Understand and explain key training metrics associated with the ETDC Monthly Dashboard.
• Possess a valid U.S. drivers license and maintain a safe driving record
• Storm Duty will be called upon to support storm duty as needed

Desired:

• Bachelors degree in education training or instructional design and 5 year of utility experience
• Experience in related course curriculum and adult learning concepts.
• Experience with instructional/learning design
• Experience participating on teams as the representative for a department
• Demonstrates ability to manage schedule and has time management skills
