Job Description
Applications are invited from teachers with
BC Certification for the following teaching position:
Sunset Elementary School Port McNeill BC
1.0 FTE Temporary Grade 3/4
Commencing: September 1 2025 to June 30 2026
or return of the incumbent whichever comes first
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- elementary teaching experience;
- strong classroom management skills;
- the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies;
- strong interpersonal communication and collaborative skills to communicate with students staff and parents in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning;
- understanding of evidence based literacy assessments and strategies;
- strong formative assessment practices;
- experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems;
- ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning;
- strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and
- ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices.
