Quality Assurance Manager
Direct opportunity
Rate: $75-85K (depending on schooling and experience)
Hours: 7am-3pm
Travel to Toledo once a quarter
Cincinnati OH
Responsibilities:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
- Understands follows and enforces corporate QA procedures to support compliance within the branch
- Updates and maintains quality district procedures and forms and ensures all updates are communicated to the responsible areas
- Maintains all applicable quality records per company customer legal and regulatory requirements
- Plans promotes and organizes training activities related to new hire orientation product quality and reliability by utilizing the standardized corporate training modules
- Supports workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials facilities and products
- Works with vendors to resolve quality issues for materials purchased per customer and related specification requirements
- Investigates and verifies customer complaints regarding branch quality issues
- Works with the area and regional quality managers to gather complaint information and resolve quality related issues
- Assists and supports requests to evaluate questionable inventory to verify it meets customer requirements.
- Maintains nonconforming material area and participates in the area quality manager status 3 meetings to assist with resolving disposition issues
- Assigns status 3 code to suspect product and ensures the material is identified and segregated to prevent shipment to customers or other facilities
- Sends out questionable defect samples to responsible suppliers or a third-party facility to analyze and identify the root cause of the generated defect i.e. supplier customer etc.
- Ensures product related to credits and debits is scrapped or returned to vendor as required
- Assists with district projects to support quality objectives to reduce credits and improve OTD
- Performs Internal audits per the company defined audit process as applicable
- Assists with 3rd party audits to accommodate external auditor and ensure a positive outcome
- Maintains district calibration program
- Provides support with DQR and LCS responsibilities for key customers
- Completes tasks as assigned by the branch manager
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree (B A) from four-year college or university with 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Willingness to learn proprietary program known as Metalware
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
