Job Description
- completing applications for Medicaid Food Stamps unemployment and other public benefits;
- pursuing rent and/or utility assistance;
- searching for affordable housing or temporary shelter;
- searching for employment and training opportunities;
- seeking out affordable medical care and related services;
- advocating for clients and helping them understand and exercise their rights within the social service delivery system; and
- procuring documentation requested by attorneys to improve legal outcomes.
- recruiting and supervising social work practicum interns;
- tracking and overseeing SWAP referrals assistance provided and case outcomes;
- updating SWAP policies including formalizing evaluation practices and expanding written practicum procedures;
- engaging in regular contacts with Legal Aid staff to identify/educate about appropriate SWAP referrals;
- attending outreach events and acting as a point of contact with community partners;
- and performing other duties as assigned.
