PSEG operates under a Flexible Work Model where flexible work is offered when job requirements allow. In support of this model roles have been categorized into one of four work location categories:
Onsite are roles that have specific onsite requirements and are typically onsite daily.
Hybrid fixed are roles that are a blend of onsite work/in-person interactions with some ability to work remotely and require employees to live within a commutable distance and be onsite fixed days each week.
Hybrid flexible are roles that can be performed remotely but require some level of onsite work/in-person interactions on a regular basis require employees to live within a commutable distance and since business needs vary by position and may change over time managers will set expectations and flexibility regarding where and when work is performed.
Fully remote are roles that can be performed remotely require employees to live in approved states and will have purpose-driven in-person interactions on occasion.

The Technology Engineer is involved in the full system life cycle and responsible for troubleshooting coding testing implementing and supporting ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) application software and systems. Engineers work closely with multiple support teams from networking Cyber Security and desktop support teams to database administrators and system architects to accomplish the mission of 100% availability of critical utility applications such as but not limited to Distribution SCADA and Outage Management System (OMS). The Technology Engineers tasks include server workstation and application management maintenance troubleshooting and small application support development. Development work involves task automation data analysis database querying and data visualization.
Creates process flowcharts diagrams and other related documentation; Develops technical workflows using different modeling techniques
Troubleshoots application issues to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operation
Ensures that the design and application implementation meets security and QA standards. Suggests fixes to issues by doing a thorough analysis of root cause and impact of the defect.
Analyzes application reports to ensure that the functionality and performance meets all product and service level requirements
Codes applications using a disciplined development process. Works on coding tasks that require skills in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area
Provides daily support with resolution of escalated tickets. Applies operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities until permanent solutions can be implemented. Supports and participates in the software deployment process for new modules upgrades and fixes to the production environment.
Documents functions and changes to new or modified modules and test activities/results
Makes modules production-ready by moving them to libraries completing forms following procedures completing version control documents etc.
Manages maintains and optimizes standard ADMS procedures and process documentation
24/7 support of critical operation system on a weekly rotating basis.
Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science Information Technology Computer Engineering or Information Sciences preferred
requires 4 or more years of work experience in Information Technology Operational Technology or Distribution Grid systems
Requires 3 or more years direct support of Critical Application and infrastructure with expected 24/7/365 availability
Databases: MSSQL PostgreSQL
Programming Languages: BASH PowerShell C Python
Valid US drivers license - This role requires the individual to drive between various locations as needed
Desired Qualification:
3 or more years of work experience in Operational Technology
Experience with ADMS Platform and applications or Electric Distribution SCADA or Distribution Automation systems
Industrial Communication Buses: MODBUS DNP3 EtherNet/IP EtherCAT
Familiarity with MongoDB and Casandra databases
Familiarity with Linux Operating Systems
Experience with Active Directory and LDAP
Key Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to create both technical and non-technical end-user documentation
Basic knowledge of the practical application of role specific engineering science and technology including applying principles techniques procedures and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of project stakeholder needs
Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary
Strong attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to learn new business and technical concepts
