Job Summary
The Senior Contract Specialist independently manages complex campus-wide contracts ensuring compliance with state laws CSU and University policies. Serving as the lead staff member this role provides day-to-day oversight of various campus contracts evaluating liabilities and risks associated with contractual relationships. Responsibilities include drafting reviewing and negotiating a variety of contractssuch as leases service agreements and amendmentswhile collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align terms with institutional needs.

The Senior Contract Specialist must possess a comprehensive understanding of state CSU and University policies with the ability to quickly learn and apply them to various scenarios. This role requires exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle a high volume of contracts ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Strong written and oral communication abilities are essential for drafting reviewing and negotiating complex documents as well as collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The specialist should demonstrate keen attention to detail critical thinking and sound judgment to identify potential issues and proactively address them. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience in an automated purchasing environment are necessary to manage and track contract negotiations efficiently. Additionally the ability to develop reports maintain organized contract files and prepare Request for Proposals (RFPs) Invitations for Bids (IFBs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs) is crucial. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement are vital for success in this role.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $6970 - $13544 per month.
