Position Overview

Under the direction of the Program Support Manager(s) Rehabilitation Services or the designated staff in Rehabilitation Services and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the Rehabilitation Assistant is responsible for: performing direct and indirect patient care activities as assigned; assisting Rehabilitation Services in the implementation of appropriate unit based treatment programs; maintaining and preparing clinical treatment areas and supplies and equipment; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Rehabilitation Assistant Program from Winnipeg Technical College or recognized equivalent.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Not Applicable

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to read write speak and understand English.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically capable of moving and transferring patients.
