Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist with completing billing for DME items in a timely manner and according to insurance guidelines
- Remain current with insurance payers health plans and prior authorization processes
- Assist with receiving inventory and unpacking assembling and stocking inventory in the DME storefront
- Provide coverage to the DME storefront as needed - wait on customers answering the phone checking messages and other necessary tasks that arise
- Maintain a positive empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times
- Complete necessary paperwork to ensure Medicare and insurance guidelines are met
- Follow proper procedure for taking payments for items sold from the DME storefront and payments on accounts
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years customer service and knowledge of medical terminology DME experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands (e.g. computer keyboard usage) sitting for long periods of time up to 6 hours per day.
Location and Travel Requirements:
- Hybrid
- Onsite location: Cayuga Medical Equipment 40 Catherwood Rd Ithaca
- 8:30 - 4:30 M-F
Compensation Disclosure:
- $15.50 to $23.00 per hour
