Chatham Emergency Services is currently seeking for a qualified Communications Lieutenant for our communications center. Our communication center is the heart and soul of the organization. The candidate must have the ability to deal with high stress emergency situations. We are looking for a great support staff within our communication center to assist Metro 911 system EMTs and Paramedics. We dispatch our vehicles.
Duties
-Administers department rules and regulations protocols general orders standard operating policies and procedures.
-Supervise assign review and participate in the work of dispatchers who receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls.
-Monitor phone and radio traffic to ensure procedural compliance.
-Review case information entered into the computer system.
-Conduct quality assurance feedback and coaching sessions with assigned employees at regular intervals.
-Operate and monitor sophisticated communications systems: Computer Aided Dispatch and Radio System.
-Instruct new and existing employees on policy and procedure in the dispatch center.
Qualifications
-Previous experience in dispatching EMS Fire and/or Police in a fast pace stressful work environment or equivalent work experience 2-4 years
-Must have or obtain EMD-Q within 6 months
-Have to be an advanced dispatcher/ or equivalent
-Must have current BLS certification
-Previous supervisor/manager experience minimum of 1-4 years
-Must have superior communications (verbal & written) skills
-The ability to deal with multiple challenges in real time.
-The ability to manage (4-6 team members) professionally
-Maintain a positive attitude in challenging circumstances.
-Successfully pass a background check drug test pre-employment physical Dispatch Lieutenant test and interview process
-Ability to sit for long periods of time
-High School Diploma or GED (Associates degree preferred)
