Job Description

Summary
Our health and human service agency client in Nutley NJ is seeking a Director of Outpatient Services for their organization. This pivotal role will be vital in providing oversight of their mental health outpatient program. This position ensures the integration of the agencys mission values and treatment philosophy into daily operations with a particular emphasis on staffing client care compliance and financial management.

The target salary range for this position is around $105000. The position is expected to be in the office Monday through Friday.

About the role

Critical parts of the job
  • Provideoversight of the program staff to ensure the successful delivery of the mental health program. Directly supervise the Assistant Director clinical staff and any interns.
  • Oversee and manage clinical treatment including documentation compliance and operational flow of clinical services. This includes oversight of intake operations service planning and termination process as well as appropriate coordination of care with internal and external programs.
  • Ensure that clinical services are provided as specified in the patient treatment plan and coordinated with other patient care services if applicable to provide continuity of care.
  • Ensure the integration of the agencys mission values and treatment philosophy into daily operations.
  • Manage agency compliance with all Federal State County City regulations program requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Assist with any accreditation process.
  • Lead the Outpatient quality assurance metrics. Participate in the identification of quality care indicators and outcome objectives and the collection and review of data to monitor clinical staff and program performance.
  • Be an active member of the Org PQI Team Risk Management Team and Client Advisory Board.
  • Ensure the operationalization of clinical policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards.
  • Ensure that the behavioral and pharmacological approaches to treatment are evidence-based or grounded in objective information providing treatment services consistent with recognized treatment principles and practices for each client served by the program.
  • Ensure the clinical staff completes all necessary paperwork adheres to established supervision requirements for staff documents needed and provides information for recordkeeping.
  • Provide clinical supervision to staff to ensure that the assessment diagnosis and treatment of patients are provided by appropriately trained and qualified clinical staff.
  • Provide clinical orientation training to new clinical staff.
  • Plan and budget for the provision of mental health counseling services.
  • Participate in Billing Team meetings and assists the Executive Director and the Office Supervisor in conducting utilization review with the Billing Department to coordinate clinical and billing issues.
  • Assist the Executive Director with community outreach and new client acquisition.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or needed by the organization.

What this position will be focused on:
Managing their services
This person will manage the daily operations of the agencys mental health services. This person will oversee all aspects of the group including both clinical and business matters. This will encompass all aspects of revenue budgeting hiring and personnel management.

Building a practice
This position will help further develop their mental health practice and continue to build on what the organization already has in place. This includes recruiting clients and additional referral sources. This person will also have the opportunity to expand into other counseling services such as substance and alcohol misuse counseling.

Being the clinical supervisor
This position will manage the clinical treatment of their clients and ensure operational compliance with state and federal regulations. This includes auditing documentation intake and termination processes and treatment planning.

Skills Education & Abilities

Qualifications
  • An LCSW is required. An LCADC is preferred.
  • A Clinical Supervisor Certification is required. An SIFI certification is a plus.
  • A minimum of 2 years post-licensure management and clinical supervisory experience in the mental health field.
  • Minimum of 5 years working in the mental health and addictions field.
  • Experience with budgeting and billing for mental health services is required.
  • Understanding of the organizations mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances.
  • Program development evaluation solid organizational skills and public speaking
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the cultures represented by the organization.
  • Good interpersonal skills ability to relate and work well with people from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural groups.
  • Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple priorities while remaining professional and calm.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize both their tasks and their staff.
  • Ability to be accurate even at a fast pace and high-volume level of work
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed and flexible.
  • Ability to perform functions with minimal supervision.

The Nice to Haves
  • Ability to write and assist with developing new policy and procedures
  • Ability to assist with curriculum creation and implementation.
  • Proficiency in computer skills especially using agency electronic health records Outlook Word Excel and customized databases.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
