KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Performs skills and procedures including medication and IV administration skills as validated on their competency checklist under the direct supervision of an RN.
Assists with the assessment planning and evaluation of patient care to provide the independent interdependent and delegated services to patients and significant others including assessment planning and evaluation of physiological psychological and spiritual dimensions.
Identifies and assists with meeting the patient and family education needs.
Provides quality cost-effective care by assisting with the individualization mutuality and coordination of health services that assure continuity of care.
Demonstrates knowledge and application of growth and development cultural diversity and special needs appropriate to the patient population served.
Takes responsibility for own professional growth and development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Wisconsin Temporary RN Licensure or have an NCLEX exam scheduled within 60 days.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to move freely (standing stooping walking bending pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance
Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform patient care procedures
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts fumes or airborne particles toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
Occasional high noise level in work environment
Standing and/or walking for extended periods of time
Transporting transferring positioning patients and/or equipment from one location to another; little likelihood for injury if proper body mechanics and procedures are followed
Possible exposure to communicable diseases hazardous materials and pharmacological agents
Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.
Position requires compliance with department specific competencies.
