Requirements
  • Education Level: BS/BA minimum
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance through the U.S. Department of State is required for this position
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience with managing risks and implementing systems engineering and integration is recommended.
  • Experience in Risk Management Processes in the support of systems engineering efforts test and evaluation and system integration support with a fundamental understanding of the engineering processes as it pertains to risk evaluation analysis and development (including risk exposure) is required
  • Knowledge of Navy shipboard control systems in particular SCS/SPCS familiarity of Navy Risk Tracking systems (i.e. Integrated Systems Engineering Environment (ISEE) Risk Radar etc.) is a plus
  • Knowledge or background in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of military specifications and Navy technical documentation
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Up to 10% travel may be required
Responsibilities:
  • Manage risks for integration of new and upgraded capabilities for the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) for Steering Control System (SCS) and steering & propulsion control systems (SPCS) on US Navy Ships
  • Develop and manage risks in accordance with the systems engineering processes NAVSEAINST 5000.8 and DoD risk issue and opportunity management guide
  • Participate on engineering teams and in technical design reviews interacting directly with our US Navy customer evaluating and capturing potential risk items (i.e. cost/schedule/performance impacts)
  • Develop detailed risk mitigation plans and work with engineering teams to execute
  • Report status completion and/or modification of activities as required by the approval authority and in accordance with NAVSEA/organizational guidance
  • Review and interpret applicable technical documentation (technical manuals operating procedures installation drawings etc.)
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders and ISEAs (e.g. shipboard networking ISEA) as required
  • Participate in peer reviews receive critiques and implement corrective measures
  • Prepare summary documentation and presentations and present those summaries to ISEA leadership Fleet and NAVSEA Chain of Command
  • Maintain effective communication across various stakeholders
  • Track risk issues to resolution
