Contributes to the overall success of the Enterprise Privacy Office globally ensuring specific individual goals plans initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you In this role you will:

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships systems and knowledge.

  • Supports a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships systems and knowledge.

  • Conducts Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) of new Bank initiatives and provides advice and counsel to Businesses with respect to the privacy program and procedures.

  • Provides support and oversight of PIAs performed by Global Privacy Officers providing challenge and quality assurance of PIAs performed.

  • Support Privacy global training program using strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Prepares letters of certification and Privacy Impact Assessment document administration.

  • Prepares reporting and communication of PIA findings to business units and performs issue tracking on outstanding items by liaising with business lines and project teams.

  • Provides recommendations on how to improve the effectiveness of privacy controls to the Senior Manager.

  • Collaborates with counterparts in Compliance legal and other control functions to ensure consistency and alignment on best practices across the organization.

  • Supports the tracking and monitoring of control function and internal audit requests of the Enterprise Privacy Office.

  • Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabanks Values its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles while ensuring the adequacy adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational compliance AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role - Wed love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelors Degree required; Law Degree preferred

  • Privacy certification preferred (CIPP)

  • Background in Legal Consulting or Compliance preferable

  • 3-5 years privacy experience preferred

  • Spanish fluency is an asset
