Job Description

Position: Student Intern Psychiatry Research

Location: Boston MA

Schedule: Per Diem

POSITION SUMMARY:

This student will be supporting the Health Equity Accelerator project in the RESTORE Center. The student will support a pilot study to assess the acceptability and feasibility of an intervention developed for oppression-based stress. Tasks include literature review support with IRB submission participant recruitment and data management.

Provides analytical and administrative assistance to department staff. Responsible for participating in project meetings as necessary data collection & analysis and other duties as necessary to support the successful completion of project / initiative work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides a wide variety of administrative and general support duties in assigned areas.
  • Collaborates with staff on special projects prepares related spreadsheets and other documents as required
  • Completes data collection data analysis and other duties as necessary for successful completion of the departments projects and initiatives.
  • May assist the principal investigator with translation to Spanish or Haitian Creole interpreting experimental results and in preparing and writing manuscripts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Recent college graduate or student enrolled in a related graduate or undergraduate degree program preferably beyond a second semester junior.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize duties

  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have an interest in performing new and varied work assignments and be flexible with regard to work assignments

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel Access PowerPoint and Word is required. Knowledge or ability to learnMinitab.

REcovery from Stress and Trauma through Outpatient care Research and Education (RESTORE) The RESTORE Center provides evidence-based mindfulness and cognitive behavioral treatments for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other programs focused on resisting oppression-based stress.
