The occupational therapist works under the supervision of a CZ Manager and is a member of the interdisciplinary Seniors Care Team responsible for providing service to seniors >65 years of age in the emergency department and community settings. The occupational therapist participates in the triage assessment planning delivery and transfer of occupational therapy services that will supportseniors to enhance their independence and function at home. The occupational therapist requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively to the full scope of their practice within a busy multidisciplinary environment. The occupational therapist requires the ability to multi-task prioritize workload and manage their time efficiently.
The occupational therapist provides collaborative senior centered care across the health care continuum supporting the physical psychosocial and emotional well-being of all individuals (including patients families groups populations and communities). This position requires clinical coordination within the team and with community partners. The occupational therapist contributes to the clinical education of occupational therapy students and related health disciplines. The occupational therapist is responsible for adhering to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures and to the professional standards of their licensing body.
The Occupational Therapist may be required to provide services throughout the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio.

$36.58 - $47.35 Hourly
