Reporting to the Materials Manager we are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Buyer Planner for the Elk Grove Illinois production facility. This role is responsible for the planning and purchasing of raw material supporting production at the Elk Grove Illinois facility. This position will manage select suppliers to ensure on time delivery at competitive pricing while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. The Buyer Planner will report directly to the Materials Manager.
In this role a typical day will look like:
Provide materials support by coordinating and scheduling material purchase orders based on MRP output and evaluation of reports.
Drive forward our Lean Conversion by implementing consignment kanban just-in-time postponement and other materials strategies to reduce inventory while increasing delivery.
Lead the implementation of standard work processes by updating or developing standard operating procedures.
Work with manufacturing customer service quality global procurement and suppliers to identify and address materials supply issues to improve delivery and inventory targets.
Effectively manage material requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) product End of Life (EOL) or product End of Support (EOS) including leading the assessment off E&O disposition for all product lines and insuring data is updated in Oracle.
Create and support BOMs in the Oracle environment.
The essential requirements of the job include:
BS/BA degree preferred or 2-3 years of equivalent professional experience in buying and planning function of manufacturing organization.
Understand the fundamentals and principles of material planning and control.
Pull system/kanban system working knowledge required and implementation preferred.
Basic understanding of MRP cycle counts BOMs and ECO process.
Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
Experience working in an international organization preferred.
Basic understanding of Excel simple formulas SUM VLOOKUP etc.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associates position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance shift travel requirements sales or revenue-based metrics any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $70000 - $85000 USD per job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
